Password Generator
Generate strong random passwords with custom length and character sets.
What is Password Generator?
A password generator creates random passwords using a mix of character types to resist guessing and brute-force attacks. The strength of a password grows with its length and with the variety of characters it contains.
Length matters most: each added character multiplies the number of possible combinations, quickly making a password infeasible to crack by trial. Mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols broadens that search space even further. This generator uses the browser's cryptographically secure random generator to create passwords locally.
How does the Password Generator work?
A 16-character password with all four character sets (about 94 symbols) has roughly 94^16 combinations, so a machine guessing billions of passwords per second would need an astronomically long time.
The generator uses crypto.getRandomValues() for unpredictable randomness and guarantees at least one character from every selected set.
How to use the Password Generator?
- Drag the slider to choose the password length, from 8 to 32 characters.
- Tick or untick the character sets you want to include.
- Click Generate — or select no sets and it falls back to lowercase letters.
- Copy the generated password with the Copy button and store it in a password manager.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters is a sensible minimum in 2026; 16 or more is better for high-value accounts. Length has a far bigger impact on strength than using obscure symbols.
Why do character variety and length both matter?
Each added character multiplies the number of possible passwords, and each additional character type removes predictable patterns that cracking tools can exploit.
Is a generated password truly random?
Yes, when generated with a cryptographically secure random source such as crypto.getRandomValues(), which is far stronger than typical Math.random() generators.
Planning your finances is easier when you can see the numbers clearly. Use this calculator regularly to stay on top of your goals and make informed decisions.
